Education In Britain

As we know, the developed country’s government attaches importance to the education very much, it is special in Britain, and this is why I choose to come here to continue my further education. British education relies heavily on public funds. However, this doesn' t mean that every educational institution relies public funds, for example, there are many private school and homeschool in Britain.

Firstly I should talk some my ideas about the private school. In my opinion maybe the private schools are always better than the public school, it appeared that the tuition of private school is much more expensive. When I went to the internet web I found that the buildings, classrooms, or the style of the private school are much better and more beautiful than the public’s, and almost all the famous person’ s children study in the private school, because maybe if you paid more you got more. However, it leads to a problem that if you had not enough money to support your children to go to the private school but you do really feeling not good to the public school, what shall you do? Many parents choose to educate their children at home, it is called homeschooling.

In fact, I do not feel strange about homeschooling because it was very universal in China before. In Chinese antique the family would be very big and there were maybe lots of children in the family, the parents always employed a teacher coming home to teach their children. It is a little similar with the homeschooling in Britain, but at that time the homeschooling is normally but now it is not commonly seen, but as the report said it seem more and more families choose this way to educate the children. However, of course it has advantages and disadvantages, I should talk many my ideas about that then.

In my opinion, the most disadvantage is that the children can not communicate with the other children if they did not go to school but educated at home. What is the children’ s most important thing? I think it is playing , though playing they can learn lots of things and they can learn how to communicate with the other people, the school is the biggest ‘playground’ to the children, they can know many friends there, play with their friends, talk with their friends, learn from their friends, but if the children just go to school at home, they would spend most of time with their parents, they can not know about the other children’s funny, I think it is not good for the children’s future. But it also has many advantages, as the report said, the children who do the homeschooling can get better education than they go to the normally public school, they can learn something fast because the ‘teacher’ just teach them only, and the ‘teacher’ is the most closely people to them, and of course if the children did not go to the public school they would not learn some bad things like many bad habits.

In conclusion, every thing has its advantaged or disadvantaged parts, the most important is that you should choose the things which fit yourself most.

Hello Kevin

Thank you for your thoughts about private and public school.

I enjoyed how your discussion about how the lack of money can disadvantage many children. If parents can't afford to send them to a private school (which provides an excellent education), they have to choose between a public school that they may not be happy with, or homeschooling.

Your thoughts are well organized.

In your conclusion, you could perhaps have also added something like....'before deciding to home school a child, it is important to consider all the advantages and disadvantages. Children deserve the best education possible.' (Just a suggestion to help you develop writing good conclusions.)
