Education In Britain

As we know, the developed country’s government attaches importance to the education very much, it is special in Britain, and this is why I choose to come here to continue my further education. British education relies heavily on public funds. However, this doesn' t mean that every educational institution relies public funds, for example, there are many private school and homeschool in Britain.

Firstly I should talk some my ideas about the private school. In my opinion maybe the private schools are always better than the public school, it appeared that the tuition of private school is much more expensive. When I went to the internet web I found that the buildings, classrooms, or the style of the private school are much better and more beautiful than the public’s, and almost all the famous person’ s children study in the private school, because maybe if you paid more you got more. However, it leads to a problem that if you had not enough money to support your children to go to the private school but you do really feeling not good to the public school, what shall you do? Many parents choose to educate their children at home, it is called homeschooling.

In fact, I do not feel strange about homeschooling because it was very universal in China before. In Chinese antique the family would be very big and there were maybe lots of children in the family, the parents always employed a teacher coming home to teach their children. It is a little similar with the homeschooling in Britain, but at that time the homeschooling is normally but now it is not commonly seen, but as the report said it seem more and more families choose this way to educate the children. However, of course it has advantages and disadvantages, I should talk many my ideas about that then.

In my opinion, the most disadvantage is that the children can not communicate with the other children if they did not go to school but educated at home. What is the children’ s most important thing? I think it is playing , though playing they can learn lots of things and they can learn how to communicate with the other people, the school is the biggest ‘playground’ to the children, they can know many friends there, play with their friends, talk with their friends, learn from their friends, but if the children just go to school at home, they would spend most of time with their parents, they can not know about the other children’s funny, I think it is not good for the children’s future. But it also has many advantages, as the report said, the children who do the homeschooling can get better education than they go to the normally public school, they can learn something fast because the ‘teacher’ just teach them only, and the ‘teacher’ is the most closely people to them, and of course if the children did not go to the public school they would not learn some bad things like many bad habits.

In conclusion, every thing has its advantaged or disadvantaged parts, the most important is that you should choose the things which fit yourself most.

Halloween

On the night of 31st Oct you can find Halloween parties in various different parts of the world, specially in the United States, Canada, Britain and Ireland.

More than 2,000 years ago, from what we know of the Celts, it seems part of their religious calendar was a night at the beginning of winter when they believed the spirits of dead people could return to walk the earth, on that night some Celtics tribes lit bonfires to scare away evil spirits, or even disguised themselves as ghosts, witches and other scary creatures so that the real ghosts would not attach. The event survived into the Christian era, and eventually received the name of Halloween and fixed date in the modern calendar—31st October.

One of the most well- known Halloween decorations is a hollow pumpkin, usually with a candle inside, and a mouth and eyes cut into the skin to make a scary looking ‘face’. As for Halloween activities, one of the most traditional is ‘trick or treating’ in which children and teenager (sometimes dressed as ghosts or witches, or in some other Halloween costume) go around knocking on people’ door on the evening of October 31st and asking for small ‘treats’, usually sweets. The people now carry out the pumpkin with candle to scare away the ghost and the children ask for the ‘treat’ maybe means they pretend the ghost to ask for some ‘treat’ then they would not attach or do the trick to the people.

Now the Halloween is a very popular festival in the world, special in the North America.

Symmetrical families

I would like to talk about something about the UK families and the typical families in my country. There is much difference between the two different countries’ families because of the different culture and tradition, but it also has many same points between them.

First of all I have to say the most different it’s that the population policy. Because of the large population limited the economic developing in China, the government restrict the families could not have more than one child, except the twins or the families of national minority, but in Britain, the families have the rights to decide how many children they would have ,and in fact, the government encourage the couples having more than one child, they would get some allowance if they have many children, but in China, if you want to have more than one child and you are not the national minority, you should forfeit lots of money.

In China, because of the birth control, one family has one child, it makes the parents dote on the child very much, but lots of families can not burden if only one of the parents work to earn the money, so the young parents often live with the grandparents, and the grandparents look after the child and do some house work, so the typical families often contain the grandparents, the parents and a child in China. But in Britain, it is much different, the people would leave home and live themselves after 18 years old, and when they marry or have children they would found a new small family, and even if they have many children they would just employ a babysitter to help them looking after the children or one of them (probably would be women) would stay at home to look after the children.

Although the Britain is more developed than China, but it also has many same traditions like the men were the master of the families, they used to decide most of the things in the families, but as the development of the society, the women have the equal rights and they are also the master of the families as the men, both in Britain and in China.

In conclusion, what ever there are many differences between the UK families and Chinese families, or there are also many same things between them, the basic point is that, the love links the families…
